Irena is as an ethnomusicologist, currently, a doctoral student at the Institute in Arts of Polish Academy of Science. She has a considerable experience in working with children, and also gives workshops on traditional singing at seminars in Poland and Lithuania, mostly at various international summer schools for traditional music.

Irena is educated as an ethnomusicologist from Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Her bachelor and master degrees were supervised by prof. dr. Rytis Ambrazevičius. Currently, she is a doctoral student at Institute in Arts of Polish Academy of Science. Her main focus is aesthetic of vocal techniques and rural musical traditions of Polish minority in Lithuania. Irena worked for eight years at the Center of Folklore and Ethnology of National Minorities of Lithuania (CFENML).  

Irena has a lot of experience in organising of international festivals, schools of traditional music and world music projects. She has a considerable experience in working with children, as she was a leader of a folklore ensemble “Traikotka”. Starting from 2010, she gives workshops on traditional singing at various seminars in Poland and Lithuania, mostly at various international summer schools for traditional music.
